Rav Nachum Mordechai Perlow of Novominsk zt"l
Son of Rav Alter Yisroel Shimon Perlow of Novominsk. Born in (1887)תרמ"ז in Novominsk. A scion of the Neshchiz dynasty. Son-in law of Rav Yitzchok Zelig Morgenstern of Sokolow, a scion of Kotzk.
Rav Nachum Mordechai was a gadol b'Torah. He received semichah from Rav Eliezer Sholom, Av Beis Din Wengrow.
In תרפ"ז, he was sent by Agudas Yisroel to the USA. The Novominsker chassidim in America entreated him to stay, and he agreed.
He took up a central position in the American Torah world and was a head of Agudas Yisroel and Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah in America.
He became renowned as a leader by example, a lively personality, and a person with whom you could comfortably discuss matters of import.
He left behind a sefer called, Pe’er Nachum on Torah and drashos. His son Rav Yaakov Perlow succeeded him as Novominsker Rebbe.
He passed away on the 9th of Elul, תשל"ו (1976) in New York, USA.
