Elul 18 , 5678
Father's Name: Yechiel Meir Lipschitz
Rav Yisroel Moshe Lipschitz of Proshkov zt"l
Son of Rav Yechiel Meir of Gustanin
In his youth, he met the Kotzker Rebbe. He also travelled together with his father to Rav Yitzchok Meir of Ger, author of Chiddushei HaRim and to Rav Avrohom of Tshechanov.
In תרמ"ח, he was crowned rebbe by many of his father’s chassidim. He settled in Proshkuv where he held court well into advanced age.
He was known as a Kotzker personality, concealing his true spiritual greatness from the public. In his younger years, he was impoverished and often went hungry, yet, no one knew to what extent since he hid it so well.
His son Rav Menachem Mendel succeeded him.
Rav Yisroel Moshe passed away on the 18th of Elul, תרע"ח (1918) and was laid to rest in Warsaw.
