Rav Yechiel Tzvi Unger of Dombrava zt"l
Rav Yechiel Tzvi Unger of Dombrov, the son of Rav Mordechai Dovid of Dombrov, founder of the Dombrov dynasty, was born 5570 (1810). His father-in-law was Rav Shimshon of Zhvolin, a disciple of the Chozeh of Lublin.
He worked as a merchant in Dombrov, and then moved to Tarnow, or Turna, as the Jews called it. From the year 5603 (1842), he held court as a rebbe in Tarnow, while continuing to travel as a chassid to Rav Chaim Halberstam, the Divrei Chaim of Sanz.
Rav Yechiel Tzvi’s sons were Rav Mordechai Dovid, Av Beis Din of Zhmigrad, Rav Yaakov Yitzchak Unger of Tzfas, and Rav Aryeh Hillel of Tarnow.
His daughter, Rechil Devora, was the third wife of Rav Chaim of Sanz and the mother of Rav Yitzchak Yeshaya of Tshechenov and Rav Shalom Eliezer Halberstam of Ratzfert. His other daughter, Shifra, was the wife of Rav Chaim Groner, Rosh Av Beis Din of Bardiyov.
He passed away on Hoshana Rabbah, the 21 st of Tishrei, 5644 (1883).
